Neighborhood Spotlight: Arapahoe Ridge

Arapahoe Ridge, located between 55th and Foothills parkway and running right along Arapahoe ave, is a nice quiet neighborhood with a lot of personality.  The homes there were built as early as the late 1950’s and as recently as the early 90’s, offering a wide range of architecture and design.  With the Flatirons golf course to one side, and a mountain view on the other, it is easy to feel at home while still being just a short drive or bike ride from downtown.  For biking enthusiasts, you will find an abundance of scenic bike and multi-use paths that are both great for commutes to downtown, nearby parks, the rec center, as well as plenty of pure recreation paths such as the Boulder Creek path.  When the weather makes biking difficult, there is no better road to get you where you’re going than Arapahoe, which can bring you right into the city, or off to the highway in no time at all.  Arapahoe ridge is built right beside BVSD’s Eisenhower elementary, one of the top elementary schools in Boulder.  This makes it a perfect location for new, or soon to be, families, and the nearby Arapahoe Ridge park and biking trails are great for all ages.  This large park at the center of the neighborhood has its own playground affectionately named “Rock Park” after its unique rock structure, fields for multiple outdoor sports, tennis courts, picnic tables, and is completely dog friendly.

You won’t have to go far for your morning coffee or lunch, either.  Just a short walk away is the locally owned Ozo coffee company where you can get any number of morning beverages and breakfast foods.  While in the area, you can also explore the Thrift and Gift shop right next door, which helps fund the local humane society, or if you’re an old-school music lover, Boulder’s own Absolute Vinyl is right at your fingertips.  If a night out is needed, once again you won’t need to look much further than your own backyard as the locally owned brewpub BRU offers great food, beer, and a family friendly atmosphere.  For more special occasions, the Boulder Dinner theatre has been providing great food and live entertainment for nearly 40 years with musicals being performed year round.

Arapahoe Ridge is a quiet little neighborhood for families just starting out, and for those who want a peaceful place that’s not too far away from the heart of Boulder.  The homes are all unique, full of character, and offer immaculate views that Boulder is known for.  With plenty of things to do and see right around the corner, Arapahoe Ridge has a lot to offer.
